Ex Kupost

Tinyc Ok, maybe I was a little harsh about this expansion. It's not that bad, but it tries way too hard to make up for "shortcomings" with ACP that weren't actually there.

First of all, it's longer than ACP. ACP can be done in 4-6 hours. Moogle Kupo d'Etat took me about 3 days.

Likewise, the tasks are much harder as well. The Quicksand Caves Seed Afterglows aren't that hard, but they're considerably more tedious and time-consuming. And instead of the huge climb up Delkfutt's tower, the last set of "mini-games" are a bunch of puzzles.

Both fights for this expansion were considerably harder than their ACP counterparts, but included more clout for BLMs. Once more, shadows are useless for all the fights of MKD, not helping NIN much. We went 1/1 on both fights, but came very close to losing, clearing the final battle in 29 minutes, 9 seconds. Fun, but a fairly hard fight. Again, many jobs will not be welcome to it, such as PLD, though ranged attackers and kiters should feel right at home.

The story doesn't make a lot of sense and only "comes together" at the final BC. Some of the gags make references to XI jargon, but still not very funny. Above all else, the actual plotline just felt incredibly pointless. I confess to having found myself skipping whole paragraphs of dialogue out of boredom. I just wanted these:

I will say some of the aspects of this expansion were, in fact, clever. HELMing key items was considerably less stupid than camping level 20 goblins around Jeuno. The Chocobo Hot and Cold game was a nice touch. Finally, the puzzles and trivia in the last stretch were also pretty unique.

I hope I never change my mind for that hat, because that BC was absolutely brutal. If you think ACP is tough when you bring gimps, this one is next to impossible.
